With the Fall TV schedule coming up in less than a month, I am very excited about quite a few shows, however these shows are the ones I felt I wanted to highlight as a huge fan of previous seasons, as well as some actors involved in others. Take a look, let me know your thoughts and what YOU'RE looking forward to as well. Keep in mind, this is my opinion, I enjoy plenty of shows, but these have been my favorite for quite some time as well as new ones that peak my interest in some type of way.
To begin, I am a huge superhero/comic book fan, so a lot of these shows will be of that genre, however a lot of other shows are capturing my attention as well. With that said, let’s get right into it.

Arrow – Season 5 Premiere, October 5th
Why am I excited for it?
A return to form: What made Arrow special in its first two seasons was its great balance of character development as well as a flirty romance that never blossomed into a full relationship. The first two seasons of Arrow had villains with motivations I as a viewer even questioned, “wow, are they right?!” Season 3 of Arrow was a misstep, with a major focus on the building of a relationship between Felicity Smoak and Oliver Queen. Season 4 was handled better in my opinion, with flashbacks that seemed like it wanted to lean more on the involvement of ARGUS (Fans of DC know that the reason Arrow may have abandoned this is because of the Suicide Squad film that came out this summer.) Any way, with the way Team Arrow is set up right now, it sets the writers up to do something different, especially with the minor additions and major subtractions of characters in the latter half of Season 4. Keep your head up Arrow fans, there are great stories that can be told that I’m hoping the writers can tap into.
The Flash – Season 3 Premiere, October 4th
Why am I excited for it?
FLASHPOINT!!!! DUH! But in all seriousness I am excited for it for the reason of dabbling into a changed history of this show (Insert, “Barry messed up the timeline meme"). I thoroughly enjoy every episode of The Flash so far and I hope that with this major Arrowverse (including Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow and now Supergirl) involved, I am looking forward to the ramifications of Barry’s actions across the universe. I will say this though, I am concerned that doing Flashpoint at this point in the shows history may be a little bit too early. Me personally, I would have loved to see a Rogue Revolution (NEW 52). But The Flash has other stories to tell as well like the Gorilla Kingdom. I am interested as well to see if Tom Cavanaugh will return as Harrison Wells in this timeline as a permanent character, or a recurring one.
Gotham – Season 3 Premiere, September 19th
Why am I excited?
If you want a show that blends cop/crime drama with your comic book lore, look no further than Gotham. This show is going into Season 3 already and even though there have been some shaky episodes as well as rough writing in certain areas of character motivations and development, it still has a high entertainment value. The problem that this show has is that it deals in the background of DC’s most profitable character in Batman and arguably the most famous city in comic book history. A character like Batman is supposed to reside in Gotham, however we have a young Bruce Wayne in this show. This is something that I personally enjoy because we normally see Bruce Wayne’s parents die and then automatically he becomes Batman. The character of Alfred is a much more gritty interpretation than ones that we see in other media. The more I talk about Gotham, the better I think it gets, as Robin Lord Taylor and Ben McKenzie carry the weight of the show and plot progression.
Designated Survivor – Series Premiere, September 21st
Why am I excited?
Have you ever wondered what would happen if at the State of the Union Address a bomb went off, killing the President of the United States and all other people who could become President if the chain of command fell one by one? Look no further than Designated Survivor which has a star studded cast with Kiefer Sutherland (24), Maggie Q (Nikita), and Kal Penn (Harold and Kumar films). The previews for this show look like it is going to be a political thriller mixed with a crime drama and mystery as well. I personally love politics so a show like this definitely peaks my interest in watching ABC this fall.
Agents of SHIELD – Season 4 Premiere, September 20th
Why am I excited?
I think that SHIELD has found its place within the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. The show is going into Season 4 already and with every season there has been some type of fallout from the movies stemming down into the TV. (Unfortunately, this doesn’t happen with DC). For example, this fall SHIELD has the character Ghost Rider coming onto the show, whether as a villain or hero in the Agents’ perspective, we are not one hundred percent sure. But I fully expect the lead in from SHIELD to go right into Doctor Strange (which comes out November 4th). There is so much potential for this show to be an awesome one this season as we have emotionally damaged characters from Season 3 as well as characters changing their roles on the show.
Kevin Can Wait – Series Premiere, September 19th
Why am I excited?
I personally enjoy Kevin James’ comedy. I think he comes across as a charming, yet tonally focused actor/comedian. I remember my parents watching him in the show King Of Queens when I was younger. Obviously most people know him in his recent roles in Adam Sandler films, however this is separate from those business moves. Also, I’m interested to see how the writers handle a retired police officer from Massapequa, NY… A town of which my good friend Gio Mio is actually originally from… He abandoned us for Connecticut though. LONG ISLAND STAND UP!!! All jokes aside, I hope Kevin James can bring the same form of reputable comedy that his fans like HIM for, to this show. I do have my reservations about it, but I will give it a chance.
