Today I am writing this article for multiple reasons. Today I received awesome news from two of my best friends surrounding their personal lives.
First off, congratulations to my Sagebrush Lane brother, Brian Martens! My homie is engaged to his girlfriend. I got some great news from A.T.E. member, Mike Edwards. I’ll let him break that news himself but man oh man is today such a crazy day for our crew.
It seems as if everything is starting to fall into place for all of us in many aspects and I couldn’t be happier for my friends and everything we’ve been striving for the past two years.
I never thought that this announcement I am about to make would be the third most exciting of the group, but it is, and I am happy that it is.
Today I am here to announce the title of my THIRD rap project. This will be a free stream/download but I truly see this project as an album.
First off, the last two and a half years have been absolutely grueling as far as work, life, relationships, friendships and family have been concerned.
Rap has been my outlet for nearly ten years now and I cannot fathom what life will be like without it.
Second, I have found that acceptance is key within life. I am so comfortable with the situations I have been handed and I am actively trying to maintain that comfort level daily.
Nothing has permitted me before from NOT sharing things that are going on in my personal life through music. This is something that any artist, musician, visual, actor etc will tell you because they are mostly confident in their abilities to be immune to judgment. Artists take judgment in stride and I fully believe the career I have in teaching has made this a huge part of my personality.
The title of my new project is called “Awoken.”
I don’t want to give too much detail on the content because the listening is highly important, but this project is all about a process and story that follows two people through two different walks of life and is told from multiple perspectives. Again, not giving too much detail but this project I am extremely excited for the way I progressed through the writing process for nearly three years since “A Faceless Name” dropped.
I know for a fact that this project is something I have been working to create my whole life even though I only started recording music 9 years ago. It’s weird to say and the story is clear enough to get exactly why this is the case. I can’t wait for you all to hear it.
See you on April 3rd.
